Most people wouldn’t jump into a car and attempt to drive somewhere they’ve never been without using their GPS. Very few people would try to cook a three course meal they’ve never made before without at least one or two recipes. Yet many people attempt to accomplish their goals and live out their purpose without a personal mission statement.
A personal mission statement tells you (and the world) who you are, what your purpose is and how you intend to manifest that purpose. In essence, it gives you a short road map to living out your purpose. My personal mission statement is below:
Through life coaching, social media, and dance fitness I encourage and exhort women to discover and live out their God given purpose so that they can live meaningful and fulfilling lives.
Here’s another example.
“To use my gifts of intelligence, charisma, and serial optimism to cultivate the self-worth and net-worth of women around the world.”
-Amanda Steinberg, Founder of DailyWorth.com
As you can see, personal mission statements are short, but powerful. In the video below I talk more about writing your own mission statement. It is my hope that this post spurs you begin writing your own mission statement. Happy writing!
